Classes Offered

Important Spring 1 Session Information: No classes will be held the weeks of March 23 -27th and April 20 -26th.

Our 2020 Recital is May 31st at Alverno- The Pitman Theater! Recital costume fee is paid directly to Creative Playground.

CLASS SCHEDULE: (Class min 3 / max 10 participants)

Mondays 5:30 – 6:15 PM (Ages 2-3)

Wednesdays 5:30 -6:15 PM (Ages 2-3)

Little Movers will learn to work with their friends while learning fun dance routines. Classes will include stories about dance and fun exercises to promote different genres of dance.

Our Little Movers are encouraged to attend class without a parent. We understand sometimes this can be scary. We will work with the caregiver to help with the process. Parents are always welcome to wait in the lobby.

*** Classes may need to be combined if we do not meet minimum attendance in both classes. We will communicate with parents as soon as we know final registration number. ***

Mondays 5:30-6:30 PM (Ages 4-6)

Mondays 6:30-7:30 PM (Ages 7-10)

Students will learn basic techniques in the style of hip hop and will learn a dance routine and fun combinations including freestyle!

Wednesdays 5:00 – 6:00 PM (Ages 13+)

Students will learn a different contemporary short combo each week so that they can get a taste of contemporary dance with different types of music. They will also learn different jumps and turns to add flare to their routines! Throughout the session students will learn how to improvise to music as well as the importance of how it helps with their technique.

Wednesdays 5:30 – 6:30 PM (Ages 4-6)

Fundamental class introducing basic and beginning ballet terms and movements. Dancers will be introduced to the discipline of ballet and dance.

Wednesdays 6:30 – 7:30 PM (Ages 7-10)

In this class, children will learn the basics of dance through the style of ballet and jazz. Students will learn the importance of beginning positions and will start the basics of leaps, jumps and turns in Jazz. They will learn the technique of the Jazz style as well as the importance of stretching and flexibility.

Tuesdays 6:00 – 7:00 PM (Ages 5-8)

This is a fun filled, fast paced style that is focused on strength, flexibility, and stamina. Students will learn the proper pom pon vocabulary and foundational skills such as splits, kicks and a variety of jumps with the use of pom pons in a crowd pleasing routine!
